Guerrilla Marketing

I’m all about creating memorable moments, often through guerrilla tactics that leave a lasting impression. Sometimes that means hitting Santa Monica with an unexpected twist; other times, it’s me stepping in as the builder when budgets are tight. I love crafting these experiences—making something unforgettable, even without a big spend.

Dino in LA

Client: Travel Alberta

Agency: Venture Communications
Role:
Associate Creative Director

We took on a bold challenge, making a splash in LA by unearthing a full-size Albertosaurus skeleton on Santa Monica beach. This attention-grabbing stunt was a media hit, with coverage from KTLA, Fox News, the LA Times, and even Jimmy Kimmel Live. The experiential campaign generated $12.75 million in media coverage for Travel Alberta, putting Alberta on the map and sparking interest in the Prairie region.

Über stein

Client: Wunderbar

Campaign: Home of the Über stein
Role:
Art Director & Prop Builder

We had a special treat for all beer lovers - posters that rolled out into an oversized 3-D Über stein, celebrating Edmonton's largest beer. This unique and eye-catching campaign caught the attention of Edmontonians and put a smile on their faces. And with Edmonton's largest beer inside, it was hard not to love.

Parking Stylus

Client: Edmonton City Centre’

Campaign: Grind with Tommy Lee
Role:
Art Director & Prop Builder

Underground Sound was a one night event held in Edmonton City Centre’s (the city’s most urban shopping centre) underground parking garage with guest Tommy Lee and feature DJs Aero, Steve Aoki and Nestor Delano spinning. Prior to the event, oversized record-player stylus needles were created and installed in downtown parking garages on the ‘enter’ and ‘exit’ arms to promote Underground Sound to the targeted downtown crowd. The objective was to sell out the event with 1,300 tickets available. In the end, Underground Sound was oversold and saw Tommy Lee swinging from the parking garage pipes.

Campaign: Dogs with wings
Role:
Art Director & Prop Builder

Dogs with Wings are specially trained to assist individuals with a variety of disabilities. These extraordinary animals have the ability to open doors, navigate obstacles and even control autistic children. To draw attention to the unique abilities Dogs with Wings have, we affixed fire hydrants and a dog houses on top of transit shelters. After three-weeks, transit ad posters were put up to complete the message.
