When Colin Weinmaster asked me to design a shirt for the R&B Allstars’ “Last Dance” tour, I couldn’t say no. The band has been setting the West Coast on fire with their soulful sound for 45 years, and this project was a chance to celebrate that legacy. I leaned into a 1960s font style, tweaking it in Adobe Illustrator to match the raw energy and grit of their music.

The design has made its way onto T-shirts and posters, available at their shows—a little piece of West Coast musical history to take home. Of course, there’s always a hitch: I oversimplified the venues and forgot to include “PNE” Rookie move, I know—but that’s what happens when you sweat the details too much.

The whole shebang is a nod to the storied venues they've rocked, listed proudly on the back. Catch their final acts in 2024—it’s now or never.
